Chimney Bird Rescue – California Wildlife Encounters

 “I received another rescue call for a bird stuck in a chimney in Sacramento. I called Michele Dodge for help. Once on scene, I could tell this rescue was going to be challenging because of the odd internal design of the chimney. The chimney had 2 different 90 degree angles inside the structure of the chimney. This made it very difficult to get any of my rescue equipment inside the wall of the chimney. After two unsuccessful hours of trying, I ended up bending a coat hanger and “MacGyvered” a rescue tool to scoop out the dove that was trapped inside the chimney. Michele was then able to use a hand held net to safely capture the dove as it started to fly through the house. Thank you all for your concerns and prayers regarding my leg injury. I am grateful for my friends, family and my core group of wildlife warriors.”
