Late May is the is the time of year when raptors are fledging – and sometimes a bit too soon and they get into trouble. The call we received today was to rescue a fledging that was seen on the ground, hopping and struggling. The fledging was in distress and panting. Parents were not seen around the baby. So I went out to pick it up. At the same, time Ben Nuckolls was on a similar call in a different county. Both are now In care for assessment and hydration. Pictured in this case study are the juvenile red shouldered hawks that both Ben and I rescued today.
