Baby Ducklings Rescue – California Wildlife Encounters

Rescue of newborn ducklings using ArmOR Hand Gloves. These ducklings were trapped inside a storm drain in Roseville. They had a rough start in life – they were born across the street in someone’s backyard and were taking up residence in their pool. After a couple days, they were evicted and placed outside the home owners’ gate. Within minutes all the ducklings fell inside the storm drain. Neighbors began making numerous calls to Roseville Animal Control, the fire department, and public works, but no one would offer to help. When we received the call, we responded. We also tried calling for help from the City of Roseville because we needed assistance in providing a water source to help flush the poor ducklings that were trapped deep inside the hidden storm drain pipe. We spent hours calling for help but unfortunately no city officials would offer assistance. Feeling frustrated, we vowed to keep trying. Eventually, we were able to net the ducklings and bring them to safety. Mother duck was no where to be found so the ducklings were transported to Gold Country Wildlife Rescue. I am lucky to have an amazing dedicated team of wildlife warriors.
