Today a report came in that a turkey vulture needed help and was first seen 3 days ago on the ground. We responded and were able to safely capture the weak bird using ArmOR Hand Gloves. It was covered in ants and was cold. We transported for care. I have a soft spot for turkey vultures because they are often misunderstood and get little respect in the animal world. They play an important role in the overall health of the ecosystem. The 2nd photo of diagnostic imaging shows the turkey vulture is suffering from lead toxicity from ingesting several lead shot pellets.
